Regaining control after chronic stress

Hello my dear.

It's Sunday night. You are prepping for a busy week ahead. First and foremost, let's take a deep breath together. We can do this.

Do you turn into a stress ball on Sunday nights? I know I do. It has taken me many years to be able to to reign the anxiety of the week in.

But anyway, back to the reason for my email.

This month I started for my very first time a Whole 30. If you have no idea what I am even talking about, google it.

Anyway, I have a history of yo-yo dieting and negative body image. as of recently, I have completely steered away from the whole diet thing and really just focused on how my body feels. I threw away my scale and focused on things like my energy level, my anxiety and my happiness.

When my dad got sick last summer, self-care became incredibly hard for me and my anxiety went through the freaking roof and it has stayed at an all time high ever since.

So here I am eight months later with skin rashes, sleepless nights, crabby afternoons and achy joints. I simply felt awful and even though I was exercising regularly, I was not feeling good.

I am on day 17 of 30 and although I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, I am so surprised at how much better I feel. My skin cleared up after the first 10 days and my joint pain is gone (so bizarre), I also haven't had an afternoon nap in a few weeks. I know that my stress levels are still heightened and most likely will be for a while. I can't change all of that and simply accepting that fact is self-care in itself.

I have no agenda with this post besides sharing something that is really working for me. It isn't a plan you are encouraged to stay on but a way to reset your body without processed foods or foods that can cause inflammation. Here is a recipe I made last week for cauliflower rice carnitas that were very easy and fabulous.

Anyway, my last announcement is that next Sunday (a week from today, I have an exciting announcement about a few new opportunities to work with me.

Have you ever done the Whole 30? If you have, comment or click reply and let me know your thoughts and favorite recipes!

Have a great week my dear friend. You are amazing. Believe the best in yourself.

With Love,

Shannon
